It's the Her Process Bonus Episode! Today I’m chatting with actor, writer, producer, and director, Kathryn Michelle. She’s back again this week to answer twelve questions that I ask of all my guests, regardless of what kind of art they practice. And since she is such a multifaceted artist, I’m betting a lot of us can identify with what she has to say. Want Kathryn’s backstory and to hear how this working mom gets it all done? Check her out on episode 24. And now, here’s my ten-ish minute chat with Kathryn Michelle.
This is a special edition of Her Process. We're talking NaNoWriMo! I asked my guest from episode seven, writer/director Sandra Payne, to come back on the show. Sandra has written for Wishbone, Barney and Friends, she's written short films, award winning web series and commercials. In episode seven she told us that participating in NaNoWriMo is how she completed her first novel. This process is something she's really passionate about. She's back on the show to share the ins and outs, and ways to approach this month of daily writing, along with hints and tips to keep you moving along. This episode is for all of you writers out there, and those thinking about writing!
I'm so happy to share this chat with my dear friend, Kathryn Michelle. I met Kathryn on a film set in upstate New York over a decade ago, and we've been friends ever since. This lady gets more done in a year than most people do in five!
She currently has four projects in the festival circuit, and she talks about the benefits and reasons why a filmmaker would go the festival route. We also talk about the many hats she wears, often at the same time, during her productions, and how the common theme of story carries across all mediums of art that she practices. Oh wait, did I forget to mention graphic design...because she does that, too! And yes, story plays a big part there as well.
Kathryn talks about the challenge of writing and why she started doing it in the first place, and I loved hearing about the inspiration behind the characters she creates, both as a writer and as an actress.
As you can imagine, with all that Kathryn does, we cover quite a lot of ground. You know, my conversation with Kathryn made me think...if you're someone with multiple interests, and talents, why limit yourself? Kathryn does it all, and she inspires me to dive in and do the same! So lets get to it! Here's my chat with my wonderfully awesome friend, Kathryn Michelle!
